You’ll find this spectacular view near Yulara in the “Red Centre” of Australia. Many of you may recognise this iconic space, but for those who don’t, this immersive event takes place nightly with Uluru as its backdrop.
Field of Light, Uluru was created by British artist Bruce Munro as a temporary exhibition that has toured globally since 2004. The concept was inspired by his visit to Uluru in 1992. While most of Munro’s installations are time-limited, the Uluru iteration has remained indefinitely since its launch in 2016.
While images look amazing, a visit to this vast attraction is recommended to fully absorb the effect of the lights within context of the land and sky. And while it is also recommended to stroll through the seven football fields worth of lights, the occasional seat is also welcomed.
The seating of choice in this space is the Kiama Freestanding Bench Seat.
Kiama Freestanding Benches
At the time, Timber-Look Aluminium was a new material option at Draffin Street Furniture. The host for the Field of Light, Voyages – Ayres Rock Resort selected Ironbark (an earthy red woodgrain finish) and Alpine Ash (a dry and weathered woodgrain finish) for their Kiama Benches that would be sprinkled across the space.

Interestingly, Voyages selected the freestanding version of the outdoor bench, allowing them to reposition seating throughout the site to adapt to seasonal changes and shifting views.
Due to low light conditions during the visit, capturing clear images of the benches proved difficult. But let’s be honest—the benches aren’t the main attraction here!
