Ed Webb Park, situated at Sunshine Beach just east of Noosa Heads, backs on to the iconic Sunshine Beach Surf Lifesaving Club.

The clubhouse had received many upgrades since it was first opened in 1984 and has become a favourite place to visit for locals and visitors alike. The park forms the throughfare between the township and club, and so naturally the popularity of the park has grown.

The Ed Webb Park upgrade is a multi-stage initiative designed to enhance public safety, accessibility, and long-term resilience—while preserving the park’s coastal charm. Such improvements at Ed Webb Park aim to benefit the community greatly.

The Landscape Construction Company (TLCC) were contracted to Stage 2 of the project, and completion sees upgraded amenities including picnic shelters, seating walls, and feature lighting along with accessible walkways and improved stormwater management, including shade-tolerant turf beneath the Norfolk Pines. TLCC’s attention to detail is obvious in this project, as the landscaping, construction and finishes of the entire site are second to none.

Ed Webb Park as it was—>

The existing centrally located shelter was to be replaced by a multi-level tiered deck that was placed higher up on the sloped park, that comprises of several covered picnic spaces, and a lookout complete with bar height tables.

This is where we zero in on the project.

Featured Furniture

Hepburn Bar Height Stools

Well-crafted bar height tables are furnished with Hepburn Bar Height Stools. The combination is well suited together. Blending Spotted Gum timber battens and “Sable Corten” powdercoated steel frames, the Hepburn Bar Height Stools help present the space as an inviting resting area.

Kiama Table Settings

Kiama Table Settings feature across all picnic spaces, creatively set up in multiple configurations to cater for various applications.

Some are set up for accessible functionality, either utilising the table’s inset leg for an accessible end position, using a shorter Kiama bench to provide side access, or even removing one bench entirely for full accessibility along one side.

For uniformity, and to blend the furniture into the space, these Kiama Table Settings have also been specified with Spotted Gum Battens and “Sable Corten” textured powdercoating.

Kiama Benches

Sprinkled across the site, you will find Kiama benches that create extra areas for more intimate gatherings.

Further away in this image you can see Kiama Benches that are also used alongside the Kiama Table settings, in this instance two settings have been butted together to create a “banquet” setting, able to seat up to 16 people.

We observe more and more parks are including creative ways to use standard furniture suites like Kiama, and this park illustrates this well.

The materials and finishes combined with the tiered deck and all other furnishings including feature lighting have provided a cohesive and inviting space that can be used day and night.
