The City of Casey have officially opened their off-leash dog park at Casey Fields. A 70-hectare multi-sports complex in Cranbourne East, Victoria. The dog park formed part of the Casey Fields Master Plan, and marks further improvements to this major sporting hub for the community.
The City of Casey approached Draffin Street Furniture to manufacture the custom furniture for this specialised park. Based directly on our Hobart suite of outdoor furniture, the City of Casey opted to add dog themed laser cut logos to highlight the special aspect of this space.
The Hobart suite is available as a standard product range. Click here to view the latest Hobart suite designs.
The Hobart suite consists of picnic settings, seats with back and benches, with various materials available to specify for both frames and battens. The City of Casey have opted for a mix of all Hobart models, some in custom sizes to install across this special space. Weathered steel frames are optioned with Enviroslat composite battens, and the combination of materials looks right at home in this park, and will provide many years of low maintenance service.
The weathered patina is in early development at the time these photos were taken. The finish will continue to darken over time.
To compliment the dog park, the City of Casey have added a sturdy dog waste station, another standard product from Draffin Street Furniture, to facilitate the handling of dogs leavings. This one stop device allows vending of dog waste bags from a heavy duty stainless steel dispenser, along with a reliable wheelie bin security mount. Both devices are available separately as well, and are best in their class for performance and reliability.
The waste station also includes a bolt down or inground post and customised signage.
The setting above has been specified for wheelchair accessibility. A standard option available to most table settings Draffin Street Furniture offer. In this case a smaller bench was used to allow a wheelchair to take the place next to it.
Custom furniture for your project.

The custom design details specified are what set the furniture for these grounds apart from other areas of the sportsground and other parks beyond. Laser Cut Logos and designs
The custom laser cut logos on the Hobart suite above are an original design, however laser cut signage is not only available to this suite but can be applied to almost any product we manufacture.
While laser cut logo’s and pictures are an effective way to communicate, laser cut lettering can also be effective, and remain legible for the life of the furniture.
These stainless steel bin surrounds are a great example of what is possible with custom laser cutting. A custom recycle logo complete with “recycling” lettering makes it clear which bin can receive recyclable waste. No matter the abuse these bins will receive over their lifetime it will always be clear which bin is which.
Another special laser cut feature these bins have is a custom perforation pattern. These proprietary bins are proudly made for the City of Boroondara Council.
What components can be laser cut?
If your Draffin Street Furniture products have a sheet metal element, chances are these components will be cut via our high powered state of the art CNC controlled fibre laser cutter. The process of altering sheet metal components is relatively quick and easy for our skilled engineers. A quick change at this stage can alter a standard product, and transform it into a unique design.
A simple laser cut guide has been prepared so you know what is required in order to initiate the design work involved with transferring the design to CAD drawings. The information forms part of our signage guide.
