Draffin Street Furniture recently teamed up with one the countries premier landscaping contractors – Landscape Solutions – to bring to life a design by Aspect Studios architect Warwick Savvas. The project was to construct 21 custom made planter boxes for the newly revamped Margaret Court Arena. Margaret Court Arena (MCA) is in the final stages of a significant redevelopment that will see it transformed into a multi-use venue designed to host a wide range of sporting and entertainment events, from tennis, basketball and netball to music concerts and comedy shows.
The planter boxes are a very small component of the $700 million Melbourne Park Masterplan, but was a significant project for a street furniture manufacturer. Draffin and Landscape Solutions worked together to take the project from the initial architects design, to a production ready design. Draffin Street Furniture then produced prototypes to bring the designs to life. After approval, all 21 units were manufactured and delivered within an eight week period, on time and in full. The materials utilized for the planter boxes were steel frame, 2 pak paint, stainless steel liners, stainless steel cables, and spotted gum timber slats.
Draffin Street Furniture prides itself on its ability to provide custom solutions for projects both on small and large scales, and love to work with urban designers and landscaping contractors to achieve the best outcome possible.
